Are you tired of photographers trying to fit you into how they want to photograph your family? Either by putting you in a generic white studio or getting you to come to their favourite location that they photograph every other family in?

I don’t do that. I am much more interested in finding a location that is special to your family and creating picture specific to you. I have lots of locations I can take you if you would prefer me to take the lead but I always try to find out something about your family so that I can tailor it to you.
Are your kids into sport? Do you like long walks on the beach? I believe your family portrait is all about your story.

The style of portraiture I love is more relaxed and personalised to you, because of that I shoot outdoors and use natural daylight which is much more flattering than a studio setting.

Getting the kids to play and actually enjoy the session is just as important because that leads to the right expressions and the easiest way to photograph your family having fun is to make sure you do have fun on the day.
What to expect
For many people this is the first time they’ve ever experienced a portrait session and you may not know what to expect. When you give me a call we’ll discuss what you want from your photoshoot. Is it for a special occasion? Who will be getting photographed? We can discuss possible locations and I will get you booked in the diary.

Your portrait session itself will last anywhere between 1-2 hours depending on the circumstances on the day. I will spend some time making you all feel at ease in front of the camera and we will typically take a walk through your chosen location. I will photograph you against different backdrops as we go along. My photography style is as natural as possible, so I will try to capture you doing an activity (this is where props can come in useful!) or capture those little moments between you when you forget the camera is there.

Once the shoot is finished I will agree a date with you for your preview session; this is where I will show you your pictures in the convenience of your own home. All pictures I shoot go through an editing process to enhance them to their best. During this session you’ll choose which images you want to purchase and in what format (e.g. digital images on USB or framed prints).

Just like the style of my pictures, there’s no hard sell, and I offer a wide range of products, everything from wall portraits to the ever-popular digital images on a USB. As a guide, most people spend between £100 and £300 but it really is up to you what you spend.

After you have placed your order there is usually a lead-time of a few weeks while your images are in the lab. Once your order is ready I will contact you to arrange a convenient time to hand-deliver your special images to you in your home.
